Hospitality staffing

Room attendant

Hotel and serviced room staffing

  • Guest-room cleaning to your brand sequence for checkout, stayover and deep cleans
  • Linen, amenity and minibar handling with maintenance reporting through front office
  • Flexible morning, evening and turndown rosters for Dubai hotels and serviced apartments

Room attendants are the heartbeat of guest satisfaction. We supply trained room attendants who follow your brand standards for turn-down, checkout cleans, deep cleans and public-area support during peak periods.

Understand the role

Core responsibilities

  • 1

    Checkout & stayover servicing

Dust and detail furniture, sanitize bathrooms, remake beds to brand spec, replenish amenities and vacuum carpets or hard floors within credit targets.

  • 2

    Turndown & evening service

Prepare rooms for night occupancy with curtain closure, bedside presentation, slipper placement and water service where your brand requires it.

  • 3

    Deep-clean and periodic tasks

Execute quarterly tasks-headboard dusting, mattress turns, shower descaling and minibar defrost-on schedules set by housekeeping management.

  • 4

    Maintenance & guest-item reporting

Log defects, missing items and DND status in the PMS or paper log; secure found property and follow your privacy and knock procedures.

Where this role fits

  • Urban business hotels

Fast turnover on compact rooms near DIFC, Media City and airport corridors with early departure waves.

  • Resort and beach hotels

Balcony tracks, sand control and larger bathrooms where attendants need adjusted credits and outdoor rinse protocols.

  • Serviced apartments

Kitchenette cleaning, washer-dryer checks and weekly service rotations for long-stay guests.

  • Staff accommodation blocks

High-volume simple rooms with emphasis on hygiene, linen control and scheduled deep cleans rather than luxury presentation.

Risks of understaffing or poor fit

  • Guest complaints on hair, odour or bathroom detail when attendants are rushed without supervision
  • Minibar and safe discrepancies if restocking and checks are not standardized
  • Cross-contamination between guest bathrooms without colour-coded cloth discipline
  • Lost-and-found incidents when guest items are moved without photography and log entries

Our deployment approach

Phase 1

Brand induction & trolley setup

Attendants train on your sequence of service, chemical chart and trolley par levels before taking live rooms-usually shadowing an incumbent for one cycle.

Phase 2

Supervised section deployment

Section supervisors run briefing, credit boards and spot checks so new attendants are not released to front office until QC thresholds are met.

Phase 3

Productivity tuning

After the first week we adjust section sizes and deep-clean rotations with your HK lead based on real credit consumption and complaint themes.

  • Issue trolley keys, pantries access and chemical dilution chart
  • Agree minibar, safe and laundry reject escalation contacts

After go-live

  • Roster continuity options for seasonal extensions or events
  • Summary of recurring defect themes for engineering planning
  • Attendant skill notes for reassignment to suites or VIP floors
  • Handover of open deep-clean calendar items to permanent team

Run a tighter operation

Best practices for room attendant

Room attendants shape OTA scores and repeat corporate business in UAE hospitality-consistency beats speed when sell-out nights pressure the schedule.

  • Top-to-bottom, dry-to-wet

Following a fixed sequence reduces rework and keeps bathroom floors safer for attendants and guests.

  • Knock–announce–wait

Strict door etiquette protects guest privacy and reduces security incidents on mixed floors.

  • Change cloths at the bathroom door

Colour-coded systems prevent toilet bacteria transfer to glasses and remote controls.

  • Photograph maintenance before covering

Quick mobile photos help engineering prioritize AC and plumbing tickets during heat peaks.

  • Respect turndown timing

Gulf guests often dine late; attendants should use PMS codes to avoid early intrusion complaints.

  • Close with a corridor check

Trolley position, amenity carts and open doors left tidy protect brand image on camera-covered floors.
